  • […]    A Settling In » Searching for Closure *updated* If you have been following my journey for any length of time, you know that I located my birth mother over a year ago. She agreed to communicate with me via letter but made it clear that her past was not something she wanted to revisit. Her two notes back to me proved that. You can see them here and here. […]

  • […] » Where We Belong I have been considering what, if anything, to do regarding the last note I received from my birth mother. I can’t believe I received it in January and still have yet […]

Hi, I just followed a link to your blog. In reading this note, it seems to me that she doesn’t understand why this information serves any purpose other than idle curiosity. Maybe she never noticed when she filled out doctors forms? Like we take for granted putting in our address or drivers license number she doesn’t even notice that she was asked that information, and takes for granted that she has it, never considering that you don’t? Maybe an explanation of how the age at which the grandparent got colon cancer might prompt your doctor to have you screened now or not at all?

Oh wow. I wish I could read it all but for some reason it’s overlapping with other text on your page. Who are the two people she talks of? Her parents? Sending you a big hug and wondering how you are doing?

  • Wow! How are you feeling about it? It was surreal for me to read your birth mother’s word and see her handwriting. I can only imagine what it is like for you to do so. Sending thoughts and prayers your way as you digest and process receiving and reading this. xoxo
