I am feeling much better since starting meds to treat pericarditis last Friday. I am awaiting a response from my doctor to see how long I should continue meds (the doctor I saw indicated two weeks and I am one week in). Today is the first pain- & chest tightness-free days I’ve had. I can’t adequately communicate how wearing it is and positively stressful and disconcerting to have chest pain with each inhalation.

Switching gears, there is a local news anchorman who is adopted and has been documenting his search for his birth parents over the last few months as he endeavored to find them. The news is featuring his story with every new revelation and will wind up tomorrow with the final segment where he meets his birth mother (he has met a half-brother and they both visited the graveside of their deceased father, a WWII vet). I haven’t been able to watch all the clips (it’s been airing in real time since November, 2013) but in watching today’s segments I looked into the investigative company that he used.

By ‘looked into’, I mean I liked their FB page and read through it and followed the url to the main website and looked through it. I also read the 11 reviews for the company on Yelp. They offer different services depending on whether you have the name of the birth parent and depending on what state they are from. Since I couldn’t easily determine if they could help my husband and me in the two states our birth father’s are from, I reached out via email just to inquire/confirm they could help.

I wasn’t expecting a quick response as I know they must be inundated by the free publicity (the news will be airing the complete story on Sunday night and will feature an interview with the investigator who will provide tips to locating one’s birth parent(s)). I really don’t want to wait until that airs as I know business will only get busier. Thirty people have found members of their birth family since the segments started airing.

I got an almost immediate response from the investigator himself asking me to provide the information I have on both of our birth fathers and he will confirm his ability to help before I engage his services. His service is also guaranteed, which is nice.

My otherwise sore heart is beating rapidly as I await his response, but I am hopeful that, through the path the universe has put me on, he’ll be the one to locate both of our birth fathers.

I am so thankful for this space to share this information as I would be sick from the stress without it.

Stay tuned…
